brookstone rope hammock too low to ground?
hey, i just got a hammock today from brookstone. I hung the hammock on the steel stand, like the directions said and i sat in it only to hit the ground... the directions said this is normal and that i had to keep on doing this until i was at a comfortable height. the only problem with this is that my hammock is now as tight as it can go on my stand and i am not that heavy and when i lay in it i am only a few inches from the ground, this is clearly not right, and rope hammocks stretch out rapidly, so... you see the problem here, ... what to do?
Return the hammock. If you have adjusted it as tight as possible and it is still too low you should carry it back. The rope will continue ... See More

How do I find out if a wall of my house and/or ceiling of my patio can support the weight of a 2 person hammock? The hammock can hold 750lbs and it's about 13 ft long. (here's the site if you'd like to see it http://www.hammocks.com/hammocks/handwoven-hammocks/xxlmazatlanmayanthickstringhammocknatural.cfm#ReviewHeader). The most weight that would be in it is about 450-500 lbs. This if for my anniversary idea, so however I find out needs to be pretty discrete.
